Meet Racquel

We have the great privilege of assisting a few students with their educational needs. Here's Racquel's story . . .Racquel is a single 19 year old, who has been receiving education support from people in our church in order to complete her pre nursing classes. Her history is a difficult one, involving making some poor choices in life. Medically, she was told she could never conceive a child as she was born with her entrails on the exterior of her body, and now has abnormal positioning of her abdominal anatomy, as well as having rheumatic fever as a child.

While having her medical tests done for nursing school in Sept. '13, she discovered she was pregnant with a due date of June 10th. Much to her surprise, on Feb 3rd she began to loose a lot of fluid and it sounded as though the baby would need to be born, at 22 weeks gestation according to her dates. However, after spending the night in the hospital, followed by an ultrasound the next morning, the doctor determined the baby was fine; was approx. 27 weeks gestation; and a c-section has been scheduled for April 26th. She was back to school the next day! We trust that the Lord has a plan for Racquel and her baby and we are excited to be a part of it!

We are most excited about encouraging Racquel in her spiritual journey, as she learns to trust her God to be her strength during these difficult, and unforeseen times. To demonstrate to her that regardless of her circumstances, Christ is sufficient, proves to be an ongoing challenge. Even day to day needs, such as food in her belly, can be something that she has to learn to rely on God for. Basic needs so easily met for us, that we so often take for granted!

Romans 8:1 “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
